Dr. Shandra Cain

Cain was appointed to a three-year term on the Board of Directors of Communities In Schools of Chesterfield County, which supports and empowers students to stay in school and achieve their goals, serving over 15,000 students across 16 Chesterfield County Public Schools.

Yvette Robinson

Robinson was elected to a two-year term on the Executive Board of the Grand Chapter Order of the Eastern Star of Virginia, PHA. She was also honored with the Virginia State University Trojan Girls Rock Award.

Kristal Moore Clemons, Ph.D.

Clemons presented her paper, “Mind Stayed on Freedom: The History and Legacy of the Children’s Defense Fund Freedom Schools® Program,” as part of a panel at the ASALH Conference. She also delivered keynote addresses on authentic, purpose-driven leadership, for the Virginia Education Research Association and Virginia Professors of Educational Leadership

Sherri D. Jordan (SES)

Jordan was recently appointed Chief Financial Officer at the Architect of the Capitol, where she oversees a $1 billion budget, accounting operations, and enterprise risk management.

Deloris G. Jordan

Jordan was named to the Board of Directors of Downtown Churches United, which provides food, financial, and utility assistance to Petersburg’s most vulnerable residents.

Ernestine G. Wilson

Wilson was elected President of the George Washington Carver Alumni & Friends Association, leading efforts to fund scholarships honoring Principal W. A. Brown.

Nakeina E. Douglas-Glenn, PhD

Douglas-Glenn was recently elected Board Chair of Health Brigade, Virginia's oldest free and charitable clinic, where she leads efforts to enhance equitable access to health services for marginalized communities.
